Just to say all the classes and lessons are running as normal following the snow on Sunday.

NEW Bronze Tango Course starts Wednesday 12/10/11 at 8:30pm £35 for 5 weeks.

Adult New Beginners Street Dance will be 7-8pm
Adult Int/Adv Street Dance will be 8-9pm

The Wednesday 8:30-9:30pm Bronze class will be starting a new 5 week routine in the Paso Doble on Wednesday 25th June. £35 per person, we hope to see you there!

ARGENTINE TANGO 4 WEEK COURSE

Starting Friday May 6th 8-9pm £30 per person at firststepsuk studios. The course is for beginners and will look at the basic step of the Argentine Tango.

Strictly Social & Dance Demo

An evening of Ballroom and Latin dancing to some fabulous music, in our huge studio and mirrors to practice your moves infront of!

we also have a Professional Competitive couple Jade Main and Kyle Fisher performing a Ballroom and Latin dance demonstration for you all to enjoy.

Doors open at 7pm and you can dance the night away until 10:30pm for just £5 each. Pay on the door and don't forget to make use of the centre's bar facilities.

We're starting a new 4 week Argentine Tango course on Friday 6th May 8-9pm. It's £30 per person and that fee will also include an hour and a half Ballroom and Latin practice session straight after from 9pm until 10:30pm.

Ipswich Latin Festival Results

A huge well done to Gary & Helen and Steve & Jane for representing the school at the Ipswich Latin festival on Sunday 27th March. You did us proud and came home with

and a 6th placing in all entered competitions.

We have been invited back for the Ballroom Festival on October 30th.

6 Hour Danceathon

What a great day, well done everyone. We got through it and helped Tracey raise over £1500 for children with AIDS in Africa. Excellent!

Lesson Cancellations

Just to remind you that we have a 48 hour cancellation policy and if your teacher is teaching at the studio whilst the snow is around but you cancel your lesson in less than 48 hours we will still have to charge you the full amount.

Christmas Show 2010

It was a very successful weekend of show performances. Well done everyone to all the cast and especially our staff. It was obvious how hard everyone had worked and Jen, David and myself were extremly proud of you all.

Remember the final performance was recorded and will be available to buy on DVD. Order forms are at the studio and DVDs are £15.00 each.

We also had the pro photographer come in on the dress rehearsal and have group and individual shots available to buy, again please see either Jen or Chloe for more information.

House Dance MASTERCLASS With Bly Richards!

We have booked Bly Richards to come take a master class in house dance!!

About Bly:

Bly's love of dance began initially with Popping and Bboying. After that he began experimenting with Street Dance, and has now ventured into Locking and House. As the winner of the reality dance show Bump & Grind 2, Bly found himself with the opportunities to perform for big artists such as Kano, Rachel Stevens and Madonna. He has also trained with some of the worlds best choreographers such as Luca Tomassino, Marty Kudelka, Kevin Maher and Darrin Henson. Finding inspiration from within, he now does his own creative choreographies and teaches at the world renowned Pineapple Studios, London.


Bly will be teaching on Friday 12th November 8-9.30pm followed by an hours jam session in the studio.

Tickets to be bought in advance at £10 per person and that includes a free T-shirt from either Chloe or Jen at the studio.

Town Demo Dates

ALL PUPILS

We have booked two more Town Demo days, (fingers crossed they will actually go ahead!)

We would like as many people to come along as possible. It’s after the show weekend so we have routines already prepared which is very useful!

Everyone from the Junior Hip Hop on Tuesdays to the Gold and above Ballroom and Latin classes. The more the merrier!

As well as performing show pieces we will be running mini workshops for all to join! There will be some Freestyle routines for the Diddy Steps/Small Steps/Dance Fusion/Junior Hip Hop and some Latin Line for the Formation/Hip Hoppers/Ballroom/Latin Couples.

We will also have some free time to just play the music and let all dance some CCC, Jive, Salsa, maybe even some Hip Hop free styling (Where’s Matty D?!)

We will be kicking off at midday and going until about 3pm with some little breaks in-between.

If you have firststepsuk uniform please wear it.

It was a HUGE success. We had THREE sell out shows! Really well done to everyone involved. Definately our best show yet!

Best way to get to us whilst the road is closed is to get yourself to the Army and Navy roundabout in Chelmsford and turn off at the Galleywood/London turning up towards the Miami roundabout then take the first left, drive up past St.John's hospital and when you get to the mini roundabout take a left. Follow that road (it curves sharply to the right) until you see a small sign for a left turning towards 'Leisure Centre' then your here :-)

Well done to everyone who took an exam yesterday. Everyone passed wih flying colours!

48 Hour Cancellation Policy

Please be aware of our 48 hour cancellation policy within the school. If you have a lesson booked and cancel it within 48 hours of that lesson time we shall still charge the full amount.

If you can't make the lesson for what ever reason perhaps see if someone you know can take your place instead of the money being lost.

Professional Hip Hop Workshop

This was a brilliant afternoon session! Big thank you to Joe Drum from the Bird Gang who came down to the FSUK Studio and took a brilliant hour and three quarter workshop for us keen hip hoppers of the school! It was great fun and we got to try out some pretty impressive moves!

New Beginners Class March 27th £50

Strictly Social - An hour class focusing on the core social dances; Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Waltz, Foxtrot, Jive, Salsa and Tango. The class will run for a course of 7 weeks with an insite into all the different styles in the first course.
The second hour will be a social and practice time to revise all that you have learnt in the class. This course is not progressive so something new will be taught every week, you do not need a partner as we will rotate so that everyone dances with different people throughout the evening.
This course needs to be booked so please contact to sign up - It will start on Friday 27th March and the course fee for 7 weeks is £50 per person. For more info please call

Laura Cadwallader is our new Hip Hop/Street instructor and is now available to take private lessons on Wednesday evenings 7.30-10pm.
